It's A.....Peanut??

For those of you who haven' heard, we're pregnant! I had my first sonogram this morning and everything looks great. Actually everything looks like a peanut but that is how it is supposed to look at this stage. The baby is right on schedule
as far as growth, it measures just as it should at 9weeks and 5days. the picture on the left is a 3D ultrasound (very cool) the head is at top and the little arm (bud) is also visible...so is the little tail, ha. The photo on the right is a regular 2D shot & the head is on the right hand side. We're so excited!

This Little Piggy

My little girl is growing up! She is currently looking oh so sweet in her new hairstyle, piggy tails. And I have a new favorite word. Kendall used to call me MAAA (usually said

at the top of her voice) but she now calls me "mommy"!!! Sometimes is comes out as "Me-Me" but often times it is Mommy...love it. She usually uses it to call me from the other room but will also say it repeatedly to get my attention.

A while back I put half of her toys in a box in the basement with the intent of switching them out in a month or so. Yesterday I decided to pull out the "new" toys and she is having a ball, of course currently ALL the toys, old and new, are on the living room floor but I plan to change that today. Funny thing though, when packing up the toys last time I unconsciously packed up most of the ones that made annoying noises so we are currently surrounded by quacking and singing. Hmmm, this toy turn over may happen quickly.

Kendall is looking forward to seeing her Gram and Pop next week, I can't wait to see how she responds to their babies...the doggies!

Long Time No Blog

So Brian has been out of town for almost TWO weeks now (he'll be home soon). He took the camera with him and I have not really felt like doing much of anything other then crashing on the couch lately. I have managed to keep the house clean but still Kendall and I decided to get everything super spiffy for him today. Kendall has always thought that the vacuum was funny and our rooms have always had Kendall sized spots that were not vacuumed (since she would sit in the middle of the floor and laugh at it) but now that she is walking she thinks that she should be doing the vacuuming. So now I have a little "helper" that stands between me and the vacuum cleaner and pushes with all her might. When we get to a wall she goes around and pushes it back toward me with the air blowing her hair out behind her. She also had to have her own sponge to clean the coffee table with. She has her own broom but she has decided that it is much more fun to run after mine.

She has been really good since Brian has been gone, especially when you consider that she has an ear infection and crazy diaper rash. I'll spare you the info on the nose drainage. She has such a great sense of humor and is so sociable (with strangers!). Lately I've been camping out on the living room floor while she plays all around me and she'll come over, do something silly to get my attention and then crack up at herself. She will just come over and kiss me at random points too, such a sweet girl.

We are looking forward to having Brian home with us again though. We both miss him so much. Usually Kendall wakes up while Brian is getting ready for work so she goes to the bathroom door and bangs on it, the first few days he was gone she would just yell "DAAAA" at the door. Brian usually holds her on the way from the church nursery to the car so when I picked her up on Sunday she was looking around like crazy trying to find him.

Quick Update

Sorry I haven't been posting, I've been in recovery mode. Don't think that I've really made it to "recovered" yet but I'm certainly on the way. I've been really pacing myself and just doing a little bit of productive stuff and a little more resting. Yesterday Kendall took a 2.5 hour afternoon nap and I took full advantage of it by.....Sleeping. I had a really hard time dragging myself out of bed when I heard her too.
As of this afternoon Kendall is doing more walking then crawling and I promise to get a picture tomorrow. At one point I was on the phone with Brian and she walked through my legs and kept going. She is turning around and bending to pick things up too. One thing that she doesn't do regularly is stand up on her own in the middle of the floor, instead she will usually crawl to the nearest object or leg and use it to help her get into a standing position.
Today I had a doctor's appointment that went well. That's all I'm going to say about that for now.
Brian will be going out of town soon, I'm a little bummed about the solo parenting that goes along with his business trips. I'm looking forward to a couple of days off when we go to visit Susan and Ron. I told Brian tonight that I want to do two things when we are on our own: a) go to breakfast and relax with a newspaper and take as long as I want and b) go to a bookstore and spend a couple hours just browsing. I miss both of those things, it's too hard with a baby.
Pictures to come tomorrow

Oh one more thing. This afternoon I was sprawled on the living room floor "relaxing" while Kendall played around and on me (she thinks I'm a jungle gym). At one point she toddled over with her new book (thank you Jennie, Nathan, & Anna) and plopped it down on top of my face...subtle isn't she?
